Dogs (Canipus lupus familiaris), Aso or Aspin in Filipino word. It is said that dogs were the first domesticated animals. They have been bred by humans for a long time and there are so many breed of dogs nowadays. Through the ages, man as considered dog as one of his closest friends. Dogs are also called helper, protector and lifesaver. Dogs are an incredible friend to man because they have been there through the years, through any task and any challenge, nevertheless the relationship between dog and a man gets deeper.
Today, some dogs are used as pets; others are used to help humans do their work. They are a popular pet because they are usually playful, friendly and loyal. They also listen to us humans treating them like a person. They are greeted us happily even after the most tiring and worst day of our lives to make us feel better. They are always at our sides when we’re sick, sad and lonely. Even if we’re rude and mean to them it is still there showing the same enthusiasm each and every time we leave them.
For me, the reason why we called dogs “man’s best friend” is simple. It is because dogs allow us to be their best friend because we love them. We are proud of our dogs, sometimes we show them off as a part of our family. We treat our dogs as how we treat our family. For example, whenever our dogs are sick, we already know it just like how a mother knows what does her child feels whenever he or she is not okay. We wash them when they get dirty. Sleep with them, play with them, hold them close, and rely on them for so many reasons.
In the presence of a dog, somehow, nothing else matters. A dog is handing out pure love, sparing no expense, and asking absolutely nothing in return. Playful, loving, and loyal, those are some traits of dogs what I have loved and experienced. That’s why I believe that dogs are truly a man’s best friend.
