One major problem teacher’s face in developing English proficiency is their inability to comfortably speak the language. Here are some tips that I may offer to teachers teaching English language.1. Observe the mouth movements of those who speak English and try to imitate them.2. Until you learn the correct intonation and rhythm of English, slow your speech down.3. Listen to the“ music “of English.4. Use a dictionary .The phonetic symbols will help your ability to pronounce difficult words.5. Make list of frequently used words that you find difficult to pronounce.6. Buy books on tape.7. Pronounce the ending of each word.8. Read a loud in English for 15-20 minutes a day.9. Record your own voice and listen for pronunciation mistakes.10. Be patient. Don’t expect instant results. This will not happen overnight. Teachers in English must not only be good in grammar but must be good in conversational English.
