Everyone is not born the same.God created all of us uniquely different from one another. But this does not mean that we have to look down on others who are different or do not have the same qualities and characteristics like we have.Tall, short, young, old,dark-skinned,light skinned:we may have lots of differences, but we’re all the same in one really important way-we’re all people! Therefore, everybody deserves to be treated equally. When we treat each other equally and with respect without looking at our differences, we are practicing the value called EQUALITY.
Equality is about creating a society that is fair, where everyone is treated importantly and is given the opportunity to fulfill his potential. A person who practices equality understands that a person’s social identity, like race, looks, age, disability, gender, social class or religion will impact on a person’s life experience. He believes that everyone has dignity and therefore has to be respected for who he is and what he believes in as long as it is not against moral principles. Treating others with dignity means we treat others the way we want to be treated.
Remember to always respect people and show them that they have dignity. It is important to treat everyone equally and fairly.
