Language is known to be man’s basic tool in communication. It would be impossible for people to live, think or act together without sounds and symbols of language.
In the Philippines, English is the channel through which the substance of education flows. It has become the medium of introduction, and the official language of the government and businesses. For such, Filipinos need English to develop the country. It was believed that English has long been the language of commerce and it is becoming the language of international relatives as well. Learning the English language is of great value to pupils since this language is also the tool used in teaching Mathematics and Science.
There are many ways of approaching the teaching of the language particularly that of the sounds, structure, vocabulary and of the normal forms of conversations. The approach one should use depends on the age of the pupils; on their interests and on the length and major aim of the course.
Language is composed of your major skills such as reading, listening, speaking and writing. Writing may truly be considered the most sophisticated. For communication through the written word possesses a certain degree of finality and demands real proficiency from the written if is to be effective.
