National Achievement Test or NAT for grades III and VI are conducted at the end of the school year every year, grade III NAT measures the mastery of the lessons learned from grades I to III while grade VI NAT measures the mastery of the lessons from all grade level,as a grade six teacher for almost 17 years I find it difficult to handle grade six students because it took a lot of effort to do so. Daily lessons have to be mastered to ensure that every pupils have learned the learning task, aside from the pressure we got every time the visitors arrived and the reports we have to accomplished as soon as possible, and the fact that we have to attend to review classes in preparation for NAT tremendously result to a stressful situation. Lately a new policy have come out, unlike before NAT has nothing to do with our bonus, now it has become a basis for PBB wherein NAT result will be the basis for getting a higher or lower bonus, the higher the NAT is, the higher the bonus one can get. But the question is “Is NAT the right basis for Performance Based Bonus? The fact that every batch has different learning ability is a big factor, what if the batch you are handling now is not clever as the other one that would be a big difference and it has a lot of impact to the performance of the pupils as well as the performance of school.
