Like in any other professions, a teacher needs and desires good living. She wants to have her own house, car, business and build a happy family. But she won’t be able to have all these if she won’t be successful in the career path she has chosen. As a teacher, she should be first successful in achieving the needs and desires in teaching.A teacher needs a lot. First, she must feel happy in what she does. It is very important for an individual to love his work in order to stay longer in it. The teacher should feel the worth of what she is doing and what she is doing results well. Next, she must be technically more qualified. It means that she should study further to possess graduate and post graduate degrees. She also needs to attend trainings and seminars. This is what we call professional advancement.When the teacher becomes successful to achieve her needs, this is the time she begins to reach for her desires. She starts to aim promotion. Everyone surely likes to step up into higher rank. Positioning in higher rank gives teacher work stability and more confidence. Along with promotion, the teacher gains salary increase which every person wants to happen in his job. This means greater source of income to achieve her personal needs and desires.The needs and desires of teachers are just the same with others. It is very easy to think and tell the process to have them. But to experience it, you have to take a long way and a long time to reach the end of your career perspective. There are obstacles that await you while having your career trek. There are opportunities that may give you a speedy advancement but there are also times you will get stranded.
