Education of our children must be given extreme importance with the support of all education stakeholders particularly the parents. Our educational system is banking on the vital role of parents towards the attainment of quality education. It has launched many programs to instill in the hearts and minds of parents that they are a part of how their children perform in class.

Schools organize Parents-Teachers Association or PTA, the Parent Learning Support System or PLSS as well as the widely known Brigada Eskwela. All of which are for parents involvement in the programs and projects of the school. Parents are required to provide support on activities related to the improvement of pupils’ academic performance. They initiate projects aimed to improve physical facilities of schools in order to enhance learning and quality education.

The department of Education believes that if parents will work hand in hand with the teachers in improving and developing their children then, quality education can be attained. This shows that parents are indispensable in education and that the school’s performance whether high or low, lies greatly on the extent of parents’ involvement and participation in its projects and programs. Thus, parents really play a vital role in building quality education.
