In the ancient China, the people desired security from the barbaric hordes to the North. So they build the Great Wall of China. It was too high to climbed over, too think to break down, and too long to go around security achieve.
The only problem was during the first hundred years of the world existence China was invaded three times. Was a wall failure? Not really – for not once did the barbaric hordes climbed over the wall, break it down, or go around it.
How they did get into China? The answer lies in human nature, they simply bride keeper and then marches right in thru gate. The fatal flaw in the Chinese defense was placing too mush reliance on a wall and not putting enough in to building character into the gate keeper. For lack of integrity a war was lost. Note carefully. The issue was not a shortage of monitions, but a scarcity of a character.
One word summarize all the above. You guessed it, integrity mental attitude, a gift of gab, influential friends but integrity. What does it mean? Its primary meaning is wholeness or completeness. Integrity came from the word integer “which means a whole number”, not a fraction. Only secondarily thus it mean honest or sincere its basic meaning is “an impaired condition”, sound, and complete. In order for a man or women to be a leader he must have followers. And to have followers, he or she must have their confidence. Hence the supreme quality of a leader is a questionable integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a football field, in an army, in an office or in school. If a man associate find him quality phoniness he will fall.
I read some magazine saying what the benefits of a power are today. A Filipino leader responding. In some government office or Dep. Ed office when you want to expedite something we are applying for a job or getting a permission paper, a common cliché is “it is not what you know but whom you know.” Sad to say some leader abuse their authority. Nehemiah, one of the great Bible character was classis. But I did not saw because of the fear of the Lord. Yes because of the fear of the Lord, he kept his integrity intact. In what ever you do we can have the habit of measuring our act by the fear of the Lord? Can we have confidently say, I’m doing what I am doing now because of the fear of the Lord.
