Competence: belief in the other party’s ability to perform the tasks required to do the job

The principal is able to accomplish the task well. They can successfully fulfil their responsibilities

 

Reliable: the extent to which you can depend upon another party to come through for you, to act consistently, and follow through.

The principal supports curriculum initiatives and provide necessary books, supplies and professional development opportunities.

The principal encourages relationship building.

The principal consistently puts people first.

They treat staff as professionals.

Openness: the extent to which the other party welcomes communication and shares information with the people it affects.

Also includes the term respect.

The principal does a good job of communicating to staff members.

The principal listens to the teachers and encourages them to speak up without fear of retribution.

 

 

Integrity: the extent to which you can depend upon another party to come through for you, to act consistently, and follow through.

Includes respect, honesty and truthfulness.

The principal consistently puts interest of children firsts.

The principal keeps their words.

The principal acknowledges and respects the dignity and diversity of the individuals on their staff.

Clearly articulates their vision and mission for the school.

Articulates a moral and ethical perspective that guides their work.

They are honest and truthful.

Benevolent: the degree to which the other party takes your best interests to heart and acts to protect them.

The principal demonstrates care  and consideration for the teachers both personally and professionally.

 

Concept of personal Regard

The principal is willing to go beyond their forma role if needed.

The principal is supportive of staff members.
