ORION, Bataan – In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Orion, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Bataan awarded 19 free Certificate of Live Births in Security Papers (SecPa) to the beneficiaries of Orion, Bataan through the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project held at MDRRMO Building on 05 October 2023.

he awarding was graced by Municipal Mayor Honorable Antonio L. Raymundo together with Municipal Civil Registrar of Orion, Cristina A. De Jesus and PSA Bataan Chief Statistical Specialist Francisco P. Corpuz.The 19 Certificate of Live Births in SecPa were awarded to PBRAP beneficiaries from 11 barangays in Orion, Bataan. Ms. Aurora Quicho Roxas, 89 years old, awarded as the oldest beneficiaries of PBRAP in Orion, Bataan who received her free birth certificate. Also Ms. Concepcion Feliciano Reyes, a bed ridden, mother of Barangay Captain of Camachile received her free certificate of live birth. One of the beneficiaries is Eury Babilonia Austria, a 9 year old currently enrolled grade 4 student.Registration Officer’s Maria Rosario C. Dela Rosa and Jherico Ryan G. Herrera were present during the activity to assist.Moreover, the beneficiaries were overwhelmed to have finally receive their birth certificate in Security Paper through PSA’s PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP), which aims to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices.The PBRAP is one of the major programs implemented by the PSA which primarily aims to increase the level of registration of vital events, particularly by registering birth of individuals in the province that declared no birth record or none in the Civil Registry System in the 2020 Census of Population and Housing survey. It is also to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the PhilSys National Identification System.In addition, this project aims to increase the level of civil registration especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity.For more updates on the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project please visit PSA’s official website www.psa.gov.ph and PSA Bataan’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/psa.bataan
