Image Orion, Bataan- Good News! Mayor Tony Pep Raymundo revealed yesterday that Ferry boat service will soon resume operation plying from this Port of Orion in Bataan direct all the way to Mall of Asia (MOA) in Manila.

Mayor Raymundo said that the Metro Star ferry boat had already signed contract for the operation with local officials here and the MOA top brass.

According to Raymundo, the Metro Star will field at least three ferry boats that will make three round trips each daily. “Magkiclick siguro ito dahil pinakikiusapan natin na gawin nilang mas mura ang pamasahe para iyong mga estudyante at low income earners ay makakaya rin nila,” pointed out Raymundo.

In the past, farers of ferry boats were as high as the moon, prompted other commuters not to ride on the ferry boats due to its exorbitant charges. In fact, almost all passengers going and coming to Bataan wanted to avail of the ferry boat services due to its proximity to Manila. But commuters could not afford its expensive charges and preferred to take land transport.

Orion to Manila will take only one hour via the Manila Bay. But Mayor Raymundo said that to make the ferry boat services more safe, the travel time will become by this time a little bit longer since the ferry boats are bigger than those that had been serving before.

As this developed, the construction of the Diosdado Macapagal seaport here is now becoming rushed to serve the public.

The said port, which was made possible through the joint efforts of Congressman Abet S. Garcia and Gov.Tet Garcia, will accommodate roll-on, roll-off passenger vessels ti ply Roxas Blvd., Manila from this port.

The opening soon of the said port in this coastal town, dubbed as the nearest gateway to Metro Manila, will further boost the tourism and economic activities of the province.
Metro Star also operates the ferry from Cavite to Mall of Asia.
