Calungusan E/S held its Drum and Lyre Investiture last October 24, 2008 at three in the afternoon. Father Quintos , parish priest of Sts. Peter and Paul blessed the occasion with a prayer, he also blessed the instruments and the band members as well.
The event is said to be a successful one. The guests who attended were honorable Gov. Enrique Tet Garcia, Dep- Ed principals Mr. Rodger de Padua of Orion E/S, Mrs. Rosario Redulla of Sabatan E/S, Brgy. Councilors, Former Brgy Captain Ernesto Hernandez, Brgy Captain Pedro Velasco, Gen. PTA Officers, and parents.
Everybody was happy to see the CES Drum and Lyre performing their exhibition to their very best..They are composed of 41 talented students from Grades I – VI.
The newly assigned talented and energetic head teacher Mrs. Pauline B. Roxas , a former T- III of Bagumbayan E/S of Pilar District was the one who encouraged the parents, the Gen. PTA officers and the teachers to pursue this project which was initiated before by former head teacher of the school Mrs. Carmelita F. Llamzon who is now the school head of Camachile E/S.
The band members were trained by Mr. Cezar G. Ramirez from August 2008. After a month , visitors and parents were all amazed to see that children learned how to play different instruments. One important thing is that it also enhanced the talents and abilities of the pupils at a very young age.
Its our honor and privilege to let you know that even our school is just a dot in the town of Orion we were able to establish this project that will help the school a lot and in community as well, They will be exposed whenever there is a special occasion and during parades for different celebrations. And I know that it will bring progress in our town.
We thanked everyone behind the success of this event, especially the town Mayor Antonio Pep Raymundo Jr. , honorable Gov. Enrique Tet Garcia and Cong. Abet Garcia who tirelessly extended their supports in spite of their busy schedule.
