“Cooperation” is working together to accomplish shared goals, thus, cooperative learning is the instructional use of small groups so that students work together to maximize their own and each others’ learning.

Cooperative learning values “teamwork”. To work as a team, the students, through a skillful guidance of the teacher, must have internalized the four essential elements of cooperative learning such as positive interdependence, individual accountability, equal participation and simultaneous interaction.

This spills commitment because the members realize they swim and shrink together. The efforts of one member benefit the whole team, without positive interdependence there is no commitment and if there’s no commitment, there’s no cooperation.

Everyone has the chance to participate. The members work together by helping, supporting and encouraging, sharing resources and praising each other‘scontribution thus, discussion is not monopolized by one student alone. There is a collaborative effort from among the members of the group, and the contributing ideas of the group can enhance the member’s interest in aiming for good result.
