The Department of Education is encouraging all the school personnel to be in a positive disposition and wear a smile on the opening of classes on June 04. The campaign aims to put schools in a cheerful atmosphere and at the same time influence the pupils and students to look forward to good days in their classes.
Edna S. delos Reyes, a grandmother and a guardian of a incoming grade three pupil of Orion Elementary School was happy upon hearing the DepEd Memorandum in a news program.
She stated that the smile of the teacher could touch the heart of a child, thus results him to be alert and attentive on listening to the lesson of the teacher. Furthermore, she also said that
this will continue encourage his grandson to wake up early and not to be late because of her teacher.
DepEd reminds all school heads of their primary responsibility in helping ensure the success of the campaign. Likewise, the regional directors, schools division/city superintendents and supervisors shall carry out the campaign in their respective offices and monitor its conduct and schools in their respective school.
This campaign was in accordance to DepEd Memorandum No. 85, s. 2012 to be observe starting this SY 2012-2013.
