Parents usually seek assurance that they are training their children the right way, waiting only the best for them, parents wants their children to grow up to become person who are not takers but givers, assets an d not liabilities in society. Proper discipline is a means by which individuals are molded to such.
The question is, what is the proper way of disciplining one’s child? Discipline refers to guidance, or the task of helping children learn to behave in acceptable ways. It also refers to everything that adults do and say, eitherdirectly or indirectly which influence a child’s behavior. But whatever the form of discipline we exercise on our children, it should be a learning experience from them.
Here are some helpful guidelines to successful discipline not only for parents, but for teacher’s as well:
1. Establish clear limits of behavior.Be good example. Instead to simply telling them, show them what to do.
2. Administer discipline in private,Discipline not should shame, humialiate nor anger a child.
3. Administer discipline firmly and thorouly.
4. Establish reponsibility for wrongdoing.Be sure to explain to the offerender why he is being discipline.
5. Show grief over the offense.Make the child realize that your heart is hurting when he does something wrong. Proper discipline is really a worthwhile invesment. Parents have only one chance to bring up their children properly. It’s really hard especially when were tired and drawn out, but it will be worth the effort.
