The late senator Marcelo Fernan sponsored senate bill no. 1827 establishing an “ Adopt-A-School Program” and providing incentives therefor, was passed into law. This is to encourage private companies and enterprises to support public schools, particularly those in poverty stricken provinces.

It was approved on February 14, 1998, Republic Act No. 8525 or adopt-A-School of 1998 allows private entities to assist public schools, whether elementary, secondary or tertiary, located in the 20 poorest provinces in the following areas: staff and faculty development for training and further education; construction of facilities; upgrading of existing facilities, provision of books, publications and other instructional materials; and modernization of instructional technologies.

Do we observe this House bill in our prefecture? Well, I’m just reminding.
