Enhanced K to 12 basic education program will start its first year of implementation, June 2012.
For SY 2012-2013, first year students will stay in high school for six(6) years, another additional two more years, finishing 4th year is called junior high school and 6th years is senior high school.
K to 12 basic education program intention is not just only to add two more years of schooling but to enhance the basic education curriculum thus, it will offer areas of specialization or electives.
To support the program, the government starts building additional classrooms and giving additional teachers.
For the month of April-May Grade 1 and first year teachers will have mass training in relation to the program.
