Mayor Tony Pep Raymundo of Orion together with some selected Municipal Health Personnel headed by Dr. Corazon M. Cruz attended the Project Orientation and Evaluation Workshop of Information and Education Material for the project “Market Trial of Iron Fortified Rice in the Philippines” where Orion is chosen pilot site.
The said activity was held on January 16, 2008 at PATVEP Hostel of the Main Campus of the Bataan State Peninsula University (BPSU) in Balanga City. The orientation was conducted by Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) with some key provincial capitol personnel.
The project is set to be implemented soon in Barangay General Lim, Sabatan and Bilolo which is expected to benefit those in the marginalized sector of the community.
