Orion, Bataan (9-12 December 2008). Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr. presented Orion experience on MDG Localization through the CBMS at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City.
The event participated in by the delegates from various countries implementing CBMS. This CBMS Network Policy Conference is part of the 7th Poverty and Economic Policy (PEP) Research Network General Meeting held December 9-12, 2008.
The meeting convened about 100 participants composed of poverty experts, researchers, policymakers and other development stakeholders. This year’s conference tackled issues relating to the recent global economic crisis and its impact on poverty, monitoring the achievement of the millennium development goals (MDGs), improving local governance through CBMS, and on inclusive growth among other PEP current research findings.
Mayor Tony Pep expound on the benefits that Orion has gained using the CBMS. He said that municipality and the 23 barangays composing it now more focused, as it uses an evidenced-based planning and budgeting using the CBMS.
