Joshua Mandi, a 12 year old athlete from Calungusan Elementary School in Calungusan, Orion, Bataan brought pride and honor not only to the school but to the entire district after being declared as the Champion in High Jump Male Division in the recently held Unit Meet hosted by the Limay district last November 7 – 8, 2008.

In school we are trying our best to develop the multiple intelligence of our learners, that’s why we also conduct events that will enhance their other potentials aside from the academics that can be learned in the 4 corners of the classroom. Mandi, I must say is indeed a revelation to the school. He used to be a shy person who lacks confidence. It was only when we hosted the SPORTFEST ’08, when we encouraged him to represent the school in HIGH JUMP Male Division, He replied positively without any hesitations. He got the title and represented the district of Orion in the Unit Meet and fortunately brought home the bacon once again. Sports have always been an integral part of the society and in the lives of every individual. In sports, we can inculcate values such as dedication, commitment, selflessness, sportsmanship and teamwork. And these characteristics will enable a person to be responsible citizen of the new generation.

To you, Joshua Mandi, aim high! We believe in you. We are so proud of you. Congratulations.
