He could have been a hundred thousand pesos richer, but this worker chose to stick to his values.

Arturo dela Cruz, a utility worker of Calungusan Elementary School found a sizeable amount of money in the street and returned the same to the rightful owner, an overseas Filipino Worker from Daan Pare.
Traversing the national road on July 27, 2007, dela Cruz heard the ringing of the mobile phone. After checking his own unit and knowing that a different is ringing, the honest worker traced where the sound is coming. He found the pouch near the Sto. Domingo Bridge. To his surprise, the pouch contained the phone, $3500 and P2000 in cash.

He looked for an identification of the owner and found that it belongs to one Antonio Montemayor of Daan Pare. Without second thoughts, dela Cruz did what a rightful person must do.

Solely dependent on his meager income as a utility worker, dela Cruz was not lured by the amount. He immediately returned the property to Montemayor to the delight of the overseas worker.
