Orion, Bataan (August 10) – The Municipality of Orion launches the Trainings ON Youth Productivity for Employment Placement Program (TONY PEP Program) this morning at Barangay Bilolo, Orion, Bataan
The launching was graced by no less than Mayor Tony Pep Raymundo, Jr., representatives from TESDA Provincial Center in Orion, Sanggguniang Bayan Members, Barangay Chairmen of the 23 barangys comprising the municipality and the first batch of trainees, 25 for welding and 25 for pipefitting, all residents of Barangay Bilolo.

Mayor Raymundo said that the program is a partnership undertaking between the LGU, PENELCO and TESDA. He added that he is looking for a possibility of tapping the San Miguel Foods, Incorporated for future partnership to further sustain the project and implement it in every barangay of the municipality.
TONY PEP program provides community-based skills training through TESDA and employment component through PESO-Orion.  The program is the municipality’s response to the high unemployment rate of the town.

The training on welding will run for 34 days while the pipefitting will require 26 days to complete,  successful trainees will receive TESDA certificate and will be prioritized for employment from PESO-Orion.
In the same activity, TESDA-Orion through the municipality offers training on cooking which also hope to equip Orion residents with skill that will match to the demand of the labor market. (
