Orion, Bataan (10 October 2008) – Orion Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo,Jr. recently delivered the municipality’s State of the Children’s Address at Orion Elementary School Covered Court, Barangay Wakas, Orion, Bataan.

Mayor Tony Pep opens his speech with this quotation, “If we don’t stand up for children, then we don’t stand for much” by Marian Wright Edelman, an American activist for the rights of the children and president and founder of the Children Defense Fund, to stress that it is the primary obligation of every LGU to take care of the future of their children.

The municipal government believes that the child is the most important asset of every nation, thus they should be nurtured through a holistic approach on their growth and development.

Mayor Tony Pep said that he is already graduating from his post by 2010 as such he wants to leave a legacy for the children of Orion.  He reported on the various accomplishment of his administration that concerns the child and youth sector or those with an age of 0 to below 18, which account to almost 30% of the total population of the town.

Mayor Raymundo has given his affirmation to the municipality’s strong resolve to give the children a better and bright tomorrow ahead of them.

The said activity is a well attended one, as all the 23 Barangay Council for the Protection of Children, the MCPC, SB Members,the academe are all in attendance to witness the very first SOCA of the Municipality of Orion (EnP. Andy R. Avorque – Municipal Planning & Development Officer)
