The role of parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to find an adequate substitute. It is therefore the duty of parents to create a family atmosphere inspired by love, care and devotion to God and fellowmen which will promote an integrated personal and social education of their children.
Parents are the primary educators of their children. They are the original right to educate them. They have all the right to educate them in conformity with their moral and religious convictions, taking into consideration of their cultural traits which favor the good and dignity of the child.
Other educators only assist the parents in this task. They can take the place of parents only for serious and valid reasons. Parents must also be aware of their spiritual formation and growth of their children.
