    The Provincial Early Childhood Care and Development Coordinating Committee (PECCDCC) in cooperation with the Council for the Welfare of Children launched its Supplemental Feeding Program in Brgy. Daan Pare through the Municipal Early Childhood Care and Development Coordinating Committee (MECCDCC) chaired by Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr. last January 14, 2008. Present during the launching were Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr., PECCDCC Officer Mrs. Roselle Fernandez, and MECCDCC Officer Dr. Corazon Cruz, MECCDCC members Mrs. Babylite Evangelista, Mrs. Carolina Generilo, ABC President Mrs. Mercilita Cruz, MNAO Mrs. Nelina Navarro, Rural Health Midwife Mrs. Erlinda Alamario, Barangay Health Workers and some Barangay officials (BECCDCC members).
    The Supplemental Feeding Program is intended for the thirty malnourished children aged 3-6 yrs. Old from indigent families. Nutritious snacks will be served 5 days a week for 120 days. MECCDCC members will monitor the program twice a month.
    MNAO Nelina Navarro will be conducting a series of lectures for the children’s parents regarding proper nutrition, planning and budgeting of meals, breastfeeding, food preparation, etc. every Fridays to equip them with proper knowledge in nutrition. A livelihood program for the 30 participating parents is also in the offing.
    Mayor Raymundo reiterated his commitment to uplift the nutritional status of the malnourished children in the communities. A similar activity will be launched soon in Brgy. Sabatan and Brgy. Bilolo and will be funded by Local Government Unit. Presently, the MECCDCC is soliciting aid form various NGO’s to help the program.
