A Teacher Induction Program will start in Orion District this June 27, current to help the teahcers with zero (0) to three (3) years experience. It will be spearheaded by the district supervisor, Beata O. Samaniego with the help of the school heads and master teachers in Orion District.
It was created to strengthen teacher education in our district. Being new teacher in the field is usually a time of considerable stress and burn out. New teachers are posted to the most remote schools and sometimes assigned to teach the “problem classes”. In their first teaching assignments, the new teachers are confronted by the realities of the classroom an experience that can be bewildering or even traumatic.
TIP modules will be used as resource base for this induction program. Master teachers and school heads will be mentors for these new teachers. There will be pre and post assessment tests after reading and studying each module which the teacher will work on their own pace. They will be assisted by mentors when needed, including class observations.
With this teacher mentoring program, it is hoped that quality education will always be evident in all schools in Orion.
