The Public and Private school teachers belong to a classification of civil servants who are among the most serviceable in the country nowadays. n school every day. He must remain in school even after the pupils leave home. He must always be well dressed ,neat, clean well -pressed.
The school teacher is expected to keep an even temper all the time. Yet we pay him such a meager salary, that he must constantly be worried about home and family. How can one be sweet-tempered when one is worried? We expect the teacher to be a model of a good conduct and decorum. We do not want to see him playing mahjong,or frequenting the cockpit or selling beauty products, longganiza and other stuffs just to have additional or extra income. Perhaps we do not want him to seek for another job just to make his earnings doubled.
When he or any member of his family gets sick he cannot afford any of the better hospitals. How can teachers go thru with a good life if they have a very low compensation ? Teachers need a better salary so as to improve their lives just like other countries to be able to suit themselves in the changing environment.
