Bafore the KOT Campaign, the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) coordinators Mrs. Ma. Lourdes Belmonte and Mrs. Dolores Almazan from the Municipal Health Office (MHO) had an audience with the Association of Barangay Captains last October 3, 2007 to inform them of the said program and to ask for their support.
The MHO personnel started the campaign a week earlier (October 8, 2007) to cover all the barangays in the municipality and and to have ample time to revisit missed children and for validation of accomplished report. The Local Chief Executive, Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo Jr., showed his support for the program by providing the health personnel and volunteers long-sleeved shirts, service vehicles and food for certain barangays.
Though the municipality started its campaign earlier than scheduled, it joins the province-wide activity of launching the program on October 15, 2007. Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo Jr. led the group on the said occassion at Puting Buhangin Health Station.
Since October is also Children’s Month, Vitamin A capsule and deworming tablet were also given to the target population.
