Orion RHU is one of the only two health centers in Bataan which has a Philhealth accredited D.O.T.S. clinic for tuberculosis patients. For it to maintain its accreditation, it has to pass QAS evaluation done quarterly both by the Provincial and Regional QAS Committee.

Recently, the microscope donated by JICA bugged down and despite repair and replacement of its parts, its performance was below par. Hence, the need for replacement, in order to keep-up with the standard set forth by the QAS Committee, arises.

This need was immediately communicated by Honorable Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr. to the Center for Health Development Region III Director IV, Dr. Juvencio F. Ordoña. Being an active partner in the promotion and delivery of health services in Orion, the good director was generous enough to donate a brand new Olympus microscope for use by the health center. The problem of delay in diagnosis and management of Tuberculosis and other diseases was averted.

The turn-over of the microscope and medicines was witnessed by Dr. Roberto Luneta, Department Head, Center for Health Development Office, Bataan, Ms. Rebecca Ellano, DOH Representative in Orion, Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Corazon M. Cruz, Municipal Health Officer and Staff of Orion RHU.–  by Dr. Corazon M. Cruz  (Municipal Health Officer)
